Bone Markers - New Aspects
by Serge Cremers, John P. Bilezikian, Patrick Garnero
The measurement of bone turnover markers in serum and urine can be used to determine bone turnover in bone. New developments in this field include the discovery and availability of newer markers, development of newer analytical assays, automation of established assays, the introduction of quality assurance programs, and improved interpretation of data by the application of sophisticated statistical modeling techniques.
This review discusses some of these new aspects in a perspective that has utility for clinical studies and individual patient care.
